The brief
For its centenary in 2024, the Faculty wanted to celebrate a hundred years of graduates and the difference they make. Nine video profiles formed part of its wider campaign of 100 stories, with subjects chosen by the Faculty’s marketing manager. After the profiles, the same team commissioned a short film on the Faculty’s history.
What I did
- Wrote the narration for the centenary film, drawing a hundred years of history from University archives and sourced footage into under four minutes.
- Gave all nine profiles the same arc, from origin to legacy, with each one landing on a single concrete detail.
- Produced and shot the profiles, while two emerging directors, Angie Kilsby and Aras Petrasiunas, directed.
- Delivered the access each subject asked for. Rebecca Adam, CEO of Expression Australia, gave her interview in Auslan, and at her request an interpreter voiced it.
Outcome
The film and profiles sit on the Faculty’s centenary site alongside the wider story campaign. The film closes by asking viewers for their support in the Faculty’s next century, and two of the profiles feature scholarship students.
